For golfers

Want faster play on the golf course?

No one wants to stand around waiting at every tee. GolfAppen automatically measures pace while your phone stays in your pocket, shows you where the queue actually is, and gives your flight a friendly nudge if the round runs long. Free, no account and no score.

    You know the feeling

The flight ahead is still on the green when you're ready at the tee. You can see them, but nothing happens. The round that was supposed to stay under five hours is creeping toward five and a half, and you've spent more time waiting than playing.

The rhythm of the round disappears
The round drags on by half an hour

    How it works for you

Three steps, and you only do them once. After that, the app recognizes the course the next time you show up.

    01

Open the app when you arrive at the course

Scan the QR code at the first tee, or go to golfappen.no/runde. No account, no download.

    02

    Accept location sharing once

The app finds the course you are on and starts the round automatically when you step onto the first tee.

    03

Put your phone in your pocket and play

The rest happens in the background. If you get a message, it is short, friendly and easy to act on.

See the queue before you stand in it

During the round you can take a quick look: the holes ahead of you glow green where it flows, and red where the queue actually is. That way you know whether it's worth relaxing at the tee — or whether you should keep the pace up.

If your flight is keeping pace, the app will say so. The queue ahead is not your fault.

    Pace measurement — not tracking

Your location is only used to see when your flight passes the tee and green on the holes the club has set up. We store no names, no email, no score and no handicap — just an anonymous device ID and timestamps. The club sees flow on the course, not people.

    Objections

    What we often hear

The most common objections from players — and the honest answers.

    «Yet another app I have to download.»

No. GolfAppen is a website — you scan the QR code at the first tee or go to golfappen.no/runde. No account, no download, no login. If you want quicker access, you can add it to your home screen.

«I don't want to be monitored on the course.»

We only log when your group passes the tee and green on the holes the club has set up. No name, no email, no score and no handicap — just an anonymous device ID and timestamps. The club sees flow, not people.

    «It drains my battery.»

We don't track continuously. Location is read infrequently, and the pace is calculated on the phone instead of constantly sending data. A full round typically costs a few percent of battery.

«I play to relax, not to be chased.»

No scolding and no screen time between shots. You see how the queue looks ahead of you, and only get a short, friendly nudge when your group is actually falling behind. A few messages per round at most.

    «It doesn't help if only I use it.»

It's actually enough that one person in the group has it open. And the more people who use it, the better picture both you and the club get of where the queue starts — that's why this is a team effort.

    «My course isn't on it.»

Tip the club. It's free for them, and setup takes under an hour. We have ready-made text you can send them further down the page.

Add the app to your home screen

Then you get pace notifications even with the screen off and the phone in your pocket. Takes under a minute.

    Questions from players

    Together on the course

    Flow is a team sport

A flight that holds its position frees up time for everyone behind. The more players who have the app open, the better picture both players and the club get — and the sooner waiting on the tee disappears.

One flight notices it – ten flights change the day

When more players have the app open, everyone can see where things stand. That lets the queue resolve before it builds up.

    Just the pace, not you

We don't see who you are, only that someone passed the tee and green. No names, no scorecards.

Share with your flight and the club

Pass the app on to whoever you're playing with, and tip off the club. It's the easiest favor you can do for golf.

We don't fix queues by playing faster. We fix them by playing at the same time.

    Share it with your flight

    "Have you seen this?"

Ready-made images and text you can share. Everyone knows the feeling of waiting in a queue at the tee. Often there are perfectly legitimate reasons things are slow. If we keep the pace together, we fix it for everyone — without pointing fingers.

The name is inserted into the images and texts. Remember to tag the club when you share.

⛳ There are many ways to spend a Saturday. One of the less popular ones is standing on the tee waiting while the group ahead takes a little longer than planned. (It happens. Often for perfectly good reasons.)

GolfAppen does something as modern as letting you know when the pace slips — not with a pointed finger, but with a small, friendly nudge. Almost like a good friend, except it doesn't take it personally.

    Tip your club

The club needs to set up the course once before pace tracking works. Here's ready-made text you can pass along — copy, paste and send.

Send it to the club manager or course manager.

Hi, I've been looking at GolfAppen — a service that measures pace of play automatically via players' phones. We as players need no account or download, and the club sees where the queue actually forms, hole by hole. It's free for the club, requires no equipment on the course, and setup is done once. Could you take a look? golfappen.no/for-klubber Best regards
